ITSM Gamification:  Beyond the Help Desk

The term ‘Gamification’ seems to be everywhere, with organizations scrambling to figure out (a) exactly what it means and (b) how this concept can potentially be of benefit to them. Just to clarify (as there remains untold confusion around this term), Gamification is all about applying game elements (the ‘DNA’ of games) to non-game activities. It’s about making ‘normal’, day-to-day activities more compelling. Gamification leverages ‘game mechanics’ such as points, levels, badges and achievements to create engagement and interest.
